ABOUT THE FOUNDER:

Pretty Found Things was founded by Jewellery Designer Lucinda Dabbs. She acquired her Btech Degree with honors (cum laude) from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. During her studies Lucinda showcased her keen eye for design and placed in several top design competitions including:

  •  AngloGold /Ashanti Auditions
  •  Award Plat Africa
  •  DTC South African – Shining Light Awards Diamond Design Collection

Lucinda has also spent some time working internationally. In Hong Kong and New York specifically. There she designed exclusive collections for top international brands. Once of her most memorable collection was based on the history of Xi’an. She was flown to Xi’an ( the old capital of China) and taken on the most amazing sight seeing tour to gather inspiration even meeting the farmer who found the first ever Terra-cotta warrior from the famous Terra-cotta Army. Another project that warms Lucinda’s heart was a collaboration with Chow Tai Took and Teach For China. An initiative to bring education to the children of rural villages across China. She designed a little cloud pendant with sunlight ( diamonds) along one side as a symbol of hope that the sun will shine again.

I am constantly drawn to small details and all things pretty. When I design, I always keep the wearer in mind, exploring how each piece fits with their style and daily life. I like to use jewelry as a medium to educate and inspire. To me jewellery is problem solving on a luxury level – Lucinda Dabbs
